A Nebraska toddler who spat out a series of insulting profanities after they were hurled at him in an online video has been taken into child protective custody, CNN reports.
Though there was nothing illegal going on in the video, officials from Omaha’s police Child Victim Unit along with the Nebraska Child Protective Services took the infant and three other children into custody on Wednesday.
In the video, the diapered black child is dealt insults filled with obscenities and racial slurs by the adults around him, who are never shown.
The toddler, who looks to be 2 or 3-years-old, knocks down a chair, flips off an adult, and tells one of them “Shut up, bitch.” The adults respond by laughing and urging him to continue swearing for their amusement.
According to CNN, the video began circulating the web after Omaha’s police union posted it on its website.
Sergeant John Wells, the union’s president, said the video was “disturbing” and “offensive.”
